Appalachia.

Appalachia. (Big Meadows, VA) – Mountain top experience, with the Love. And nowhere to go except up. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 21mm f/4.
Going Ape.

Going Ape (Smithsonian Zoo – Washington, DC) – Gorilla mom’s watchful eye. We had an incredible experience with an orangutan later that day… To anthropomorphize the situation, he showed us he was happy to see us by swinging over and pulling a ‘see-food’ trick with a mouthful of bamboo (?). Unfortunately, that picture is NSFL (Not Safe For Lunch). Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 90mm f/2.
Where the Buffalo Roam.

Where the Buffalo Roam. (Maymont Park, VA) – Oh, the poor buffalo. Stuck in the rain and in a pen, and looks like he needs a hug. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 50mm f/1.4.
Snow Storm.

Snow Storm. (Washington, DC) – Dave out in the snow, looking for a convenience-store source of butter and whipping cream for snow day cooking. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 50mm f/1.4.
Whim.

Whim. (Boyertown, PA) – One of the extra shots from a shoot with Amy and her sister over Thanksgiving break. Thought it was well worth keeping. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 50mm f/1.4.
We Are Hidden in the Light.

We Are Hidden in the Light. (McClure, PA) – Taken wayyyy too late at night. The sky was extremely clear, and I hit the fields around my work one night – however, I am pretty sure they were freshly manured. Only in darkness are the lights revealed. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 15mm f/3.5.
Red All Over.

Red All Over (McClure, PA). Just testing out some colors and the 15mm. I forgot how much I love that thing. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 15mm f/3.5.
Un/seen.

Un/seen (Washington, DC) – Part of me never wants to publish another color photograph ever again. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 50mm 1.4.
Hope all is well out the ‘blogosphere.’ Lots of weekend traveling (NJ two weekends in a row!), covering a PSU Printmaking class, cycling, photo shows, and spending time with the One-and-Only… what can I say? Life is very, very good.
Riding Skills > Walking Skills.

Riding Skills > Walking Skills. (State College, PA) – Clay riding his knobby-tyred bicycle across the famous Three Bridges section of the Wilderness 101 endurance race. I had a great wedding that afternoon, so I could only photograph in the morning, but the sun coming through the fog made for some great back-lit shots. More to come, probably on the event blog soon. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8.
Goodnight, My Love.

Goodnight, My Love (State College, PA) – Out with the moon, late night. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 350mm F/4.8, Leica 2x Extender.
Soooo, I have been experiencing this little thing called “Photography Burnout”, where instead of spending time photographing/editing/posting, I have been riding the mountains, moving my apartment and studio, and doing the 7-5:30 working day. I would much rather be photographing more than anything, but it has to be put on the back burner just for a wee bit more to take care of this other business. Hang with me – I promise I will be back on a regular posting schedule.
