Snowed.

Snowed. (Washington, DC) - Wintry scene driving back from Virginia last night. Spooky and peaceful on the hill. Canon 5D Mk2, 24-70 f/2.8.
Land of Waters.

Land of Waters (Domaine Poutrincourt, Canada) - Oh Canada, you will be missed. Just the memories of lakes full of fish and stomachs full of beer to last us for now. We will let this summer go by without seeing the aurora nor the moose tracks in the sand, and we let the walleye grow fatter for the next year. Leica R5, Leica 35mm f/2.
Desire.

Desire (National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC) - Two ironically placed statues in a classical sculpture section of the museum. You can feel the tension in the air. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 50mm f/1.4.
Summertime.

Summertime (Avalon, NJ) - Another memory of summer. From last year. Lomo LC-A, Fuji Provia 400 Slide Film (cross-processed).
Drift.

Drift (Hualien, Taiwan) - I could photograph driftwood all day - seriously, drop me off at a beach, and I will be a happy camper. This was a nice little find among the sandstone cliffs and bright blue sea. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 21mm f/4.
Vertical Forest.

Vertical Forest (Raystown, PA) - Only a half hour left of a mountain bike ride through a beautiful forest, and the rumble of thunder sounded the beginning of a monsoon. Okay, maybe not a monsoon, but we were soaked, and it became sunny again right before we got out of the woods to the car. Hence the phrase, “We’re not out of the woods yet.” Threw an autochrome digital filter on the trees, just ’cause. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 24-70mm, f/2.8.
Three Travelers.

Three Travelers (Cape May, NJ) - This is throwback to the work of Kahn and Selesnick, two of my favorite artists who ‘discover’ artifacts and photographs of lost exploration missions of the early 1900’s. A lot of their work relays mysteries, cities, and cultures that have long disappeared, and these pieces of fictional history find their context (and offer criticism) in our modern era. So, what story do you see here, if any at all? Canon 5D Mk 2, Leica 35mm f/2.
Tunnel Visions

Memorial to the Fallen Trail Builders, Taroko NP, Taiwan - This statue and shrine is surrounded by the names of the Taiwanese workers who died as they cut trails along the cliffs in the Taroko National Park, near Hualien, Taiwan. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 35mm f/2.
Ah, welcome back to the blog. I am going to try out the new format (as previously promised!) to house some in-progress/creative work that just doesn’t fit into the wedding/event/travel photography site, though there will probably be some overlap. I will try to post mostly pictures, which may or may not have text accompanying it. Hopefully the posts will not be *too* disjointed or random to read, so here it goes.
