We Are Hidden in the Light.

We Are Hidden in the Light.

We Are Hidden in the Light. (McClure, PA) - Taken wayyyy too late at night. The sky was extremely clear, and I hit the fields around my work one night - however, I am pretty sure they were freshly manured. Only in darkness are the lights revealed. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 15mm f/3.5.

Red All Over.

Red All Over (McClure, PA). Just testing out some colors and the 15mm. I forgot how much I love that thing. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 15mm f/3.5.

Riding Skills > Walking Skills.

Riding Skills > Walking Skills.

Riding Skills > Walking Skills. (State College, PA) - Clay riding his knobby-tyred bicycle across the famous Three Bridges section of the Wilderness 101 endurance race. I had a great wedding that afternoon, so I could only photograph in the morning, but the sun coming through the fog made for some great back-lit shots. More to come, probably on the event blog soon. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8.

Goodnight, My Love.

Goodnight, My Love.

Goodnight, My Love (State College, PA) - Out with the moon, late night. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 350mm F/4.8, Leica 2x Extender.

Soooo, I have been experiencing this little thing called “Photography Burnout”, where instead of spending time photographing/editing/posting, I have been riding the mountains, moving my apartment and studio, and doing the 7-5:30 working day. I would much rather be photographing more than anything, but it has to be put on the back burner just for a wee bit more to take care of this other business. Hang with me - I promise I will be back on a regular posting schedule.

Land of Waters.

Land of Waters.

Land of Waters (Domaine Poutrincourt, Canada) - Oh Canada, you will be missed. Just the memories of lakes full of fish and stomachs full of beer to last us for now. We will let this summer go by without seeing the aurora nor the moose tracks in the sand, and we let the walleye grow fatter for the next year. Leica R5, Leica 35mm f/2.

Tame.

Tame (Philadelphia, PA) - Lions at the zoo. I see all these great animals through the photography of my two employers, but never get to see them in person. I was surprised to be so excited to see them live and breathe, even if they are behind plate glass. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 180mm f/2.8.

We Have Forgotten.

We Have Forgotten.

We Have Forgotten (Avalon, NJ) - Lindsay on the beach, unknowingly posing for the camera. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 21mm f/4.

We have forgotten how small we actually are in comparison to the ocean.

For those of you who have been following my blog through its ups and downs, you may remember a rather ugly story of how I left a church and the sticky web of experiences/beliefs I had to be cut out of. Well, I talked with a certain You-Know-Who today after he stopped to talk to me. The meat of our conversation didn’t surprise me, nor the predictable rhetoric-and-response that came out of both of our mouths. End result: no where, just more walls and conclusions for us both.

Instead of going off the deep end and recalling the conversation to post, I will say this: I refuse to respond to anger/manipulation with anger/manipulation. All roads, I hope, lead to repentance and reconciliation, whether we want them to or not. We have forgotten how small we are in comparison to God and the different callings he has for us. Our little wars with one another must end.

<Sigh>.

Non/Event.

Non/Event (State College, PA) - Photograph was taken close enough to the Winter Solstice to make it ironic to post on the Summer Solstice date. Happy Irony! Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 21mm f/4.

Guard Dog.

Guard Dog (McClure, PA) - Luckily, he’s more of a tail-wagger than an arm-chomper. Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 50mm f/1.4.
