Three Travelers.

Three Travelers (Cape May, NJ) – This is throwback to the work of Kahn and Selesnick, two of my favorite artists who ‘discover’ artifacts and photographs of lost exploration missions of the early 1900′s. A lot of their work relays mysteries, cities, and cultures that have long disappeared, and these pieces of fictional history find their context (and offer criticism) in our modern era. So, what story do you see here, if any at all? Canon 5D Mk 2, Leica 35mm f/2.
NYC in SC.

NYC in SC (State College, PA) – Anyone want to guess where this is in State College? I have some grandiose (yet still unrealized) ideas for a shoot here, but it does seem a bit too skeevy for my taste right now. Maybe in a month or two. But I like the echoes of NYC here. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 35mm f/2.
Another Look.

Another Look (Green Lane, PA) – A shot from this weekend’s afternoon hike around the park near my parents’ house in eastern PA. This is one of my favorite portraits taken so far with the 50mm f/1.4 lens (and coincidently, it’s of my favorite person!). Canon 5D mk2 and the Canon 50mm f/1.4 wide open.
So I am really committing to at least one picture a day. I know how often healthy New Year’s Resolutions are forgotten with donuts and cheeseburgers, but I will really try to keep this going with quality images and decent capture notes. My backlog of unseen pictures is staggering, so I want to try to get them out into the sunlight for you to see. Please tell your friends. :D
Little Kid.

Little Kid (McClure, PA) – I think I am on a cute animal kick. I was on a shoot at a farm last night, trying to get a decent sunset over the barn and house, but the colors weren’t going to come out for another hour. I made the best of it by hanging out with the goats/sheep/cows for a bit, and came away with a bunch of portraits. Canon 5D Mk2, Leica 90mm f/2.
Coco, the Happy Dog.

Coco, the Happy Dog (Philadelphia, PA) - My girlfriend’s sister’s new puppy. Lots of fun to photograph… and to get puppy dog kisses from. Testing out a new lens: a Canon 50mm f/1.4 on the 5D Mk2. Really tight depth of field, but definitely gets soft-focussy wide open. I can live with it, especially as a sweet back-up or portrait lens for weddings… :D
More Signs of Life

Signs of Life (McClure, PA) – Decided that I fancied these flowers, and went through a lot of pixels to get the right arrangement of them in the frame. Some turned out better than others. Canon 5D Mk2, Lecia 90mm f/2.
